Today VMware introduced us to VMware vSphere 4. Described as the industry’s first operating system for building the internal cloud, enabling the delivery of efficient, flexible and reliable IT as a service.
VMware vSphere 4 extends the previous generation VMware platform – VMware Infrastructure 3, delivering the efficiency and performance needed to run critical applications in large scale environments. It provides un-compromised control over application service levels, and it preserves customer choice of hardware, OS, application architecture and on-premise vs. off-premise application hosting.

Another perk of the system is it offers quick, simple, integrated, and cost effective disk-based backup and recovery for all applications with VMware Data Recovery.
Alex Mittell from PHD Virtual said “Using the virtual infrastructure to back itself up is the most efficient method. With VMware adding this functionality to vSphere 4 it pretty much confirms that esXpress has been ahead of the curve for some time.”
