Citrix Systems has announced that they have updated two of their certification programs to include new standards which focus on development of skills surrounding virtualization technologies. This is in direct recognition of the increasing importance many companies are placing on virtualization within their infrastructures.
There is speculation that this may well be a sign that Citrix is in a position to leverage XenSource within the existing business markets.
The certifications prices range from $150-$300 per individual examination. The CCEE for Virtualization certification is aimed at experienced IT professionals who want formal recognition of their skills. The CCIA for Virtualization tests skills and strategic approaches to virtualization. (To be eligible for a CCIA for Virtualization, candidates must first obtain the CCEE for Virtualization certification, and then pass a final exam.
