Backup 2.0+

by Patrick Redknap on January 29, 2010

Several articles over the last few days have appeared discussing the notion that Vizioncore is “Paving The Way For Image-Based Backups To Replace File-Based Backup Methodology”.

The articles refer to “Vizioncore being at the forefront of major change in the industry by advancing the adoption of Backup 2.0 solutions”

Now from what their documentation says it seems that Vizioncore’s new “Backup 2.0″ methodology is anything that does an image level backup, while Backup 1.0 is traditional agent level backups. If this is the case I’d make a bold statement and say that this is nothing new in the market!

Based on the structure Vizioncore are suggesting then perhaps esXpress would be classified as the next generation ahead of Backup 2.0 …. or Backup 3.0 even?

This would be a reasonable assumption as esXpress:

1.) Provides self restorable backups that do not need a license key or software or restores. This future protects your backups.

2.) Is priced per HOST so hardware provides better backups and more performance for no additional price

3.) Offers a Web Based Multi user interface

4.) Has scalability which is second to none!

5.) Is fault tolerant to meet all backups needs and requirements
